Bio-diversity in Purbeck reaches new heights with the re-introduction of beavers
Purbeck has always been a special place to come and see wildlife with an amazing diversity of habitats within a 20 minute drive from lowland heaths, tidal marshes, chalk downlands, limestone hills and cliffs, ancient woodlands and more. This is one of the reasons the BBC spring watch and winter watch programs have taken up near permanent residency at RSPB Arne.
These habitats support populations of all the native UK snakes and lizards, special birds such as Ospreys, Sea Eagles, Night jars and puffins as well as Tawny & Barn owls.
Now the NT Little Sea nature reserve at Studland has a release of wild beavers - so why not book a long weekend or week and come and try and spot them.
