Visiting the coast with your dog

  • South West Coast Path: Dogs are allowed on all of the South West Coast Path, and there are plenty of beautiful coastal walks you can enjoy together. Be careful near cliff edges as you wouldn’t want yourself or your dog to have an accident, use a lead and perhaps avoid if your dog falls into the large, boisterous puppy category !
  • Beaches in Purbeck:  Dogs are welcome all year round at the following beaches; Lulworth Cove, Man O’War Cove, Durdle Door, Worbarrow Bay and Kimmeridge.
  • Between the 1st of May and the 30th September dogs must be kept on a 2 metre lead on all beaches at Studland. In Swanage no dogs at all on the main beach, but dogs are welcome to use Monkey Beach which is located by the old stone quay, close to the pier.
